Gurify Guide
Everything you need to know about using Gurify to automate your job search.
Getting Started
Gurify automates your entire job search pipeline. It monitors job boards and companies' career pages around the clock, scores every opening against your resume, and generates tailored resumes for the best matches.
How it works
- Upload your resume — Gurify learns your background, skills, and experience.
- Create searches — Define what you're looking for: keywords, location, job type, experience level.
- Get matched — Every new job is scored automatically. High-scoring matches come with a tailored resume, ready to download and send.
Gurify checks for new jobs every 30 minutes. Once you set up your searches, new opportunities appear automatically — no need to refresh or check manually.
Creating Your Account
Gurify uses magic links for authentication — no passwords to remember.
- Go to the sign up page and enter your email.
- Check your email (and spam folder) for a login link.
- Click the link — you'll be signed in automatically.
Onboarding
After your first login, Gurify guides you through two steps:
- Upload your resume — paste text or upload a PDF.
- Create your first search — set up a job search or ATS search.
Once both steps are complete, Gurify starts finding jobs for you immediately.
You can always sign in again later using the same magic link process — enter your email, click the link in your inbox.
Your Resume
Your base resume is the foundation of everything Gurify does. It's used for scoring jobs and generating tailored versions.
How to upload
- PDF upload — drag and drop or click to select a PDF file (max 5MB). Gurify extracts the text automatically.
- Paste text — copy your resume text directly into the editor.
Tips for your base resume
- Include everything — all jobs, projects, education. The AI selects the most relevant parts for each tailored version.
- Use clear section headers — Experience, Education, Projects, Skills. Standard names work best.
- Don't worry about length — longer is better for the base resume. The AI handles trimming.
- Keep it up to date — update your resume when your experience changes.
Your resume is private and isolated. Other users cannot see it, and it's never shared with anyone without your explicit action (downloading and sending a PDF).
Job Searches
Job Searches monitor LinkedIn for new job postings matching your criteria. They run automatically every 30 minutes.
Creating a search
Each search has these options:
- Name — a label for your reference (e.g., "PM roles in Israel").
- Keywords — the job title or role you're looking for.
- Exact phrase — check this to search for the exact phrase (wraps keywords in quotes).
- Job type — full-time, part-time, contract, or all.
- Experience level — internship, entry, associate, mid-senior, director, or all.
- Work type — on-site, remote, hybrid, or any.
- Location — filter by country or region.
- Time range — how recent the postings should be (past 24h, past week, past month).
Understanding the results
- Total seen — total number of jobs the search has found across all polling cycles.
- New — how many of those were new (not duplicates of jobs already in your list).
Click the search name to expand it and see the jobs it found.
Start with broader keywords and a wider location. You can always create more specific searches later. It's better to see too many results than to miss good opportunities.
ATS Searches
ATS Searches scan company career pages directly — finding jobs that may never appear on LinkedIn.
What are ATS career pages?
Most companies post jobs on their own websites using applicant tracking systems (ATS). These include:
- Greenhouse, Lever, Comeet, Ashby
- Workday, BreezyHR, Traffit
- And hundreds of other platforms
Gurify indexes these career pages and searches across them.
How they differ from Job Searches
- Job Searches — monitor LinkedIn, use structured filters (location, job type, etc.).
- ATS Searches — search across company career pages using free-text queries.
Creating an ATS search
- Name — a label for your reference.
- Query — a search query using keywords. Use quotes for exact phrases and AND/OR for combining terms.
Examples:
"program manager" AND Israel"QA engineer" AND remote"data scientist" OR "machine learning engineer"
How Scoring Works
Every job discovered by your searches goes through an automatic scoring pipeline:
- Description extraction — Gurify fetches the full job description from the posting URL.
- AI scoring — the job description is compared against your resume and evaluation rules.
- Score assignment — a score from 1 to 10 with an explanation of the match quality.
What affects the score
- Skills overlap — how well your skills match the job requirements.
- Experience alignment — whether your experience level matches.
- Industry relevance — how closely your background relates to the role.
- Your evaluation rules — custom criteria you define (if any).
Score ranges
- 8-10 — excellent match. Strong alignment between your background and the role.
- 5-7 — decent match. Some relevant experience but not a perfect fit.
- 1-4 — weak match. Limited overlap with your background.
Scoring is completely free — it doesn't cost credits. Only resume generation, test scoring, and unmatched job analysis use credits.
Opportunities
The Opportunities page is your main daily view. It shows jobs that scored at or above your threshold (default: 7).
Actions
- Applied — mark a job you've applied to. Moves it to the "Show applied" filter.
- Skip — not interested. Moves it to "Show skipped".
- Unmatch — in the expanded view. Marks a job as a bad match. Use this to help Gurify learn what you don't want.
- Create resume — generate a tailored resume for this job (costs 1 credit).
Expanding a job
Click any row (or the ▼ chevron) to expand it and see:
- The AI's explanation of why it scored this way
- The full job description (collapsible)
- The Unmatch button
Searching
Use the search bar to find specific jobs by title or description. When searching, results include jobs of any status — not just unactioned ones.
Tailored Resumes
For each opportunity, click "Create resume" to generate a version tailored to that specific job.
What the AI does
- Reorders bullet points to put the most relevant experience first
- Rephrases descriptions to use the job's language
- Keeps all your jobs in reverse chronological order
- Maintains proper formatting with bold section headers
What the AI never changes
- Your name, phone number, email, or location
- Job titles, company names, or dates
- Education details
- It never removes a job from your history
After generation
You're taken to the resume editor where you can:
- Review the changes ("Changes made" collapsible section)
- Edit the text directly
- Download as a clean PDF
Each resume generation costs 1 credit. Review the job carefully before clicking "Create resume".
Evaluation Rules
Rules tell the AI what matters to you beyond what's in your resume. They customize how jobs are scored.
Rule weights
- Critical — must-have criteria. Jobs missing these score significantly lower.
- Important — strong preferences that meaningfully affect the score.
- Nice-to-have — minor factors for slight adjustments.
Example rules
- "Score higher if the role involves people management" (Critical)
- "Prefer companies with 100+ employees" (Important)
- "Bonus for roles offering stock options" (Nice-to-have)
- "Score lower if the role requires more than 50% travel" (Important)
Test with Sample Job
Paste any job description and click "Test Score" to see how your rules would score it. This helps you fine-tune rules before they affect real scoring. Costs 1 credit.
Learn from Unmatched Jobs
After marking several jobs as "Unmatch", click "Analyze" to have the AI review patterns in your rejected jobs and suggest rule improvements. Costs 1 credit.
You don't need rules to start. Scoring works with just your resume. Add rules over time as you notice patterns in what you like and don't like.

FAQ
How much does Gurify cost?
Gurify is free during beta. Free users get 5 credits. Paid plans with 50 credits/month will be available soon. Job discovery and scoring are always free.
What counts as a credit?
Creating a tailored resume, testing a score with a sample job, or analyzing unmatched jobs each cost 1 credit. Job scoring, description extraction, and search polling are always free.
How many searches can I create?
Free users: 1 job search + 1 ATS search. Paid users: 10 of each. These limits can be increased by the admin on request.
How often are jobs updated?
Job Searches run every 30 minutes. ATS Searches run on a configurable schedule (default: twice daily). Descriptions are fetched and jobs are scored automatically within minutes of discovery.
Is my data private?
Yes. Every user's data is fully isolated — your resume, searches, jobs, rules, and tailored resumes are visible only to you. Even the admin cannot see your data without explicitly using the impersonation feature.
What ATS platforms does Gurify support?
Gurify scans career pages powered by Greenhouse, Lever, Comeet, Workday, BreezyHR, Ashby, and hundreds of other applicant tracking systems. If a company has a public career page, Gurify can likely index it.
Can I use my own resume format?
Gurify generates resumes in a clean, ATS-friendly text format with a downloadable PDF. The AI preserves your content and structure while optimizing for each specific job. You can edit the generated text before downloading.
How does scoring work?
Each job description is compared against your resume and evaluation rules using AI. The result is a score from 1-10 with an explanation. Higher scores mean stronger alignment. You can customize scoring with evaluation rules.
What if I don't set up evaluation rules?
Scoring works with just your resume — the AI compares your experience directly against the job description. Rules add extra criteria and preferences, but they're optional.
What happens to expired job postings?
Gurify automatically detects when a job posting has been removed or expired (via redirect detection). Expired jobs are cleaned up from your list.
Can I apply to jobs directly from Gurify?
Not currently. Gurify helps you discover, evaluate, and prepare — you still apply through the original job posting link. Click the job title to open the posting in a new tab.
How do I contact support?
Click "Contact Admin" in the sidebar to send a message directly from the app. You'll receive a reply by email.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There are no contracts or commitments. You can stop using Gurify at any time. Your data remains available if you return.
Can I export my data?
You can download tailored resumes as PDFs at any time. Full data export will be available in a future update.
